Leo et Capella (color-coded)

LEO ET CAPELLA.

More information about this poem and about the color-coding.

Forte Leo vidit · restant(em) in rupe Capellam:

Scilicet huc illuc || ardua rupis erat.

"Editiore loco
· descendas," callidus ille

Incipit; "in campo || dulcior herba viret."

"At locus est," ait haec,
· "gratus; mihi pabula rupis

Laeta minus praebet, || tuta sed ista placent."

Notes: Given the choice, I tend to read ait as two syllables in dactylic verse. What do others do?
